Lifestyle
Mactra are preferred suppliers to Landmark Wholesale, a national buying
group for well known Cash & Carry operations. Since 2002 Mactra
have been working with Landmark and their suppliers, household names:
Walkers Crisps, Glaxo Smithcline, Coors Breweries, Cadbury's, Gallahers,
Scottish & Newcastle to regenerate independent stores throughout
the United Kingdom. Over 500 stores a year are converted to the Lifestyle
Express and Lifestyle Drinks Express symbol groups. This involves working
with retailers, redesigning their stores to get the best in terms of
space use and to maximise turnover & profits. This is often done
within a strict budget. Uplifts in sales are regularly reported by retailers
after the Hothouse program of which Mactra play an important part.
Premier
Mactra fit a growing number of Booker 'Premier' symbol group stores throughout
Somerset, Devon & Cornwall. This involves working to Premier's specifications
to ensure the store's corporate branding is maintained. These shops are
often rural village stores where Mactra often have to fit a 'quart into
a pint pot'.
Over the years Mactra have fitted stores for Londis, Costcutter, Spar,
and other symbol group retailers that insist on using Mactra as their
shopfitter rather than the one recommended by their group. As well as
the symbol groups there are large numbers of retailers who want to hold
onto their independence but don't want to lose the benefits of being part
of a group. Mactra advise independents on the best layout or their store
to maximise their profits and footfall.
L&F Jones Convenience Stores are a small West Country group of 16
Local convenience stores. Often the only shop in the area, Mactra continually
update the stores with the Jones Management team, ensuring that just
because a shop is out in the country, doesn't mean that it shouldn't
be at the forefront of the latest retail innovations.
Newsagency
The specialist high street news retailer needs bespoke solutions to best
display the products sold. Whether it be the latest Acrylic Magazine displays
from Bartuff or extra volume greeting card displays, Mactra have the expertise
to keep the Retail News business in the lead in these times of Online
competition.
Post Office
Mactra are approved by the Post Office to supply and install the Combi
counter units now popular with village stores and post offices, where
previously a dedicated member of staff had to run the post office and
another the shop. Mactra give advice not only on the installation, but
put retailers/postmasters in touch with the right contacts to make the
changes happen.
Pharmacy
New government initiatives encourage the use of consultation rooms in
pharmacies around the country. Pharmacies already brimming with thousands
of small boxes and bottles have to find room for an area that the patient
can consult with the chemist in privacy. Mactra are the only company that
a number of the small independent chains of Chemist shops approach when
making these changes.
Clothing
Fashion and clothing retailers require designs and fixtures to best
show off the ever changing clothing ranges that they sell. Mactra stock
a range of garment rails, tagging equipment and specialist coat hangers
for the industry
Agricultural Dealers, Hardware & Caravan stores.
With a range of products that vary from a penny washer to a Tractor,
these are notoriously difficult shops to design. Mactra have been successfully
finding solutions for these specialist retailers who keep coming back
for more every time they want to change an existing or open a new depot.
