Congratulations to the Pan Atlantic Team for successfully completing the Atlantic Rowing Race 2007 - Sixth Place. Komale crewed by James Burge and Niall McCann (UK), finished Tuesday 5th February 14:05 GMT - crossing time 63 days, 2 hours and 5 minutes.

News prior to the event.....

Mactra Marine Equipment are loaning wateremakers (1 x Schenker Smart 30 and 1 x Katadyn Survivor 35 ) for the Pan Atlantic team who are rowing in the Atlantic Rowing Race 2007 in aid of charity. Everyone here at Mactra Marine Equipment would like to take this opportunity to wish Niall and James good luck in the Atlantic Rowing Race 2007.

The Pan Atlantic Team

The Pan Atlantic Team are Niall McCann and James Burge from Bristol, UK. James and Niall are two local lads attempting to do something incredible. They’re not celebrities or Marines, just two Bristol chaps setting out on the hardest rowing race in the world - the Atlantic Rowing Race 2007 - and they're doing it for charity. James is a former fitness instructor and is racing in an Ergo Row the Channel race in November. Niall is more of a general adventurer, cyclist, canoeist and mountaineer. Niall has cycled the highest road in the world, canoed the Yukon and organized expeditions to the Amazon and Pantanal amongst other adventures.

The Pan Atlantic Team Boat

The boat is made of 6mm thick marine plywood with a thin coat of epoxy resin for strength and resilience to water. A six foot long cabin provides shelter for the electronics, navigation equipment and the team. All boats must be made to the same specification.
